Photographer, Jordan Tiberio, and model, Elisa Muthig, took a trip out of Manhattan to the rabbit hole that is Wave Hill: a public garden in the Bronx, tucked alongside the Hudson River. It is 28 sprawling acres of nature and freshness to touch and smell and roll around in. Because it is no secret the city can make memories of blooming trees and lush greens, and sometimes it is exactly what our body needs.
Here, Wave Hill serves as the stage for this team of two to tell us their story. Captured through a gauzy and dreamlike vision, these images call upon one of our favorite narratives. Who hasn’t wanted to lose themselves for an afternoon like Alice? For those living in the city it is an oasis of flora and fauna made for the kind of magical wandering we find in story books. It is a dream you might never want to wake from.
“I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I’m not the same, the next question is, ‘Who in the world am I?'” -Alice
