I like to think that I have a lot to say and I am immediately drawn to artists who seem to feel the same about themselves. Due to my fascination with the merging of image, feminism, and societal expectations, I can’t get enough of Lee Price’s work. Creating incredible realist paintings with precise details that trick your eye into thinking you are viewing a photograph, Price is using her skill to craft a message.
Showing women in their most intimate and comfortable settings indulging in junk food that is often considered taboo by society’s standards, Lee Price is adamant about her message being heard.

In regards to her work, Price has stated, “In this society, there’s so much pressure for women to be thin. We’re not supposed to have appetites – and not just for food, but for a lot of things. We’re the givers and not the consumers, and I think some of my recent paintings are about the women staring at the viewers and saying, ‘I’m not going to censor my appetite.”
