Wanderlust: Corey Arnold’s “Graveyard Point”
BY Vivianne Lapointe 23 Oct 2012 @ 9:57 pm | Categorized: Live_Travel>, Wanderlust
Out of all the places in the world, Alaska is one I’ve wanted to visit – to breathe in the untamed wilderness, crisp salty air and just exist up in the silence of the mountains, alone for a while. Nature calms the mind like nothing else, doesn’t it? Well… maybe not fot the men at sea.

L.A.-based photographer and director Graham Dunn doesn’t only capture physical beauty and style. He has the rare ability to literally dig into the soul of a subject with his lens. Extract its purity. Just look at all the eyes in the spread below! Dunn has shot for Lovecat, Bambi, Ben Trovato and has a really wonderful portfolio of short fashion films. He’s one of our favorite portrait photographers, yet “Gray Area” was his first story for Live Fast Mag, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce him in our Interview Series. He’s not a man of many words, but the images definitely do the talking.

Editorial: Siouxzen Kang’s “Fully Frida”
BY Vivianne Lapointe 17 Oct 2012 @ 1:15 pm | Categorized: Exclusive, Live_Fashion>
How inspiring Frida Khalo’s life was, even to this day, so it’s no wonder photographer Siouxzen Kang emulated her style and grace in this glorious Live Fast Mag exclusive titled “Fully Frida.” Frida’s life as a painter and as a lover was defined by her difficult health issues caused by polio and a tragic accident as a young woman. But despite her limitations, she defined herself by creating some of the world’s most recognizable and influential paintings with her colorful folkloric style.

I was reading an article on IFB last night about the Internet’s current obsession with getting inspired… Well, you know what inspires me way more than typed out inspirational slogans? Success stories… in the flesh. I’m completely obsessed with the story of Cheryl Cohen’s journey as a young babe with a head full of dreams, moving to L.A. and opening a vintage store on a hip block of Hollywood with her beloved husband.

I might be biased, but I just love when writers venture into art curation. This past summer, Daniel Rolnik - a freelance art critic based in Los Angeles - has used his connections and creative sensibility to bring together a sweet line-up of contemporary artists (Joshua Petker, Jim Mahfood, Ellen Schinderman, Will Deutsch, Ryan McIntosh and many more) for his first show at CURIO gallery in Venice Beach.
INTERVIEWS opens Saturday, October 6th from 7-11pm at Curio Studio and Collection in Venice Beach (324 Sunset Avenue Venice, CA 90291). The exhibition will feature paintings, sculptures, and photographs – 68 pieces in total. We had a chance to chat with Rolnik about this latest project, and here’s what he had to say:

BY Vivianne Lapointe 28 Sep 2012 @ 12:24 pm | Categorized: Interview Series, Live_Art>
A lot of magazine clipping and much resin huffing have been going on since we last wrote about enigmatic Brooklyn artist Judith Supine. This is the final week to check out his latest body of work off the streets, a solo exhibition at Jonathan Levine gallery in New York. He claims it’s “Too Much For One Man,” but I think you can handle it…
