LA-based indie rock band SWIMM has us feeling like a couple of groupies with the exclusive release of their newest music video. You know, it’s not every given weekday we find ourselves hot and bothered and dancing in the living room at noon, and yet here we are doing exactly that right now. SWIMM has become a staple in the LA music scene with their packed warehouse shows in Chinatown, their residency at The Echo, and now a December 17th headlining show at The Troubadour that we already bought our tickets to. Their first debut album is due out spring of 2017, yes please.
“Groupie” is a sort of pinnacle display of what this band does so well, a smooth yet wild time that leaves you feeling so breathless you might as well have just gotten laid. It’s indie rock having a late night encounter with a psychedelic pop dance party that just won’t stop, or more likely that I simply refuse to leave. Directed by Salt Lake City born, globally raised, LA-based filmmaker, Wyatt Noble, “Groupie” is proving him to become an inspiration source to keep an eye on. Some of his upcoming work includes his first feature role in an indie film alongside girlfriend Bailee MyKell.
In the meantime, to get your fix join us tonight: December 2nd at 9pm for an exclusive premiere at Out Of Order, 2810 Hyperion in Silverlake. The premiere will be followed by a DJ set from Marc Baker and as many sweaty dancing people as we can legally accommodate. You’re welcome in advance, see you on the dance floor.
