A year after France passed a law requesting that all new rooftops must be covered in plants or solar panels, Paris mayor, Anne Hidalgo initiated a yet another green measure to beautify the city and solidify the community. With a plan to add 100 hectares of green space to the city by 2020, she’s decreed that anyone and everyone can and very well should plant a garden. Residents are invited to get creative with the already limited space they have by building hanging gardens and green walls. Of course all the important things like no pesticides and sustainable practices are also in the fine print. Come spring this year it should be really something to see. Add this to your endless list of reasons to visit.
