Kickstarter Watch: Brandy Eve Allen’s Invisible Light Tarot Deck

If it is true that nothing is original, is it not then the obligation of an artist to originally recreate that which is already art? It is the burden of the creatives to bear the responsibility of imagination in the face of all else the world asks of us.

Photographer Brandy Eve Allen has answered the call and delivered to us a tarot deck like we have never seen. All 78 cards of the traditional deck have been staged and photographed to capture the essence of every individual meaning. The deck is titled Invisible Light because, “similar to the way the tarot cards reveal that which is hidden, infrared film is picking up light that is invisible to the human eye.” The result is a magical, mystical, other world feel to the collection as a whole. Inspired by the images used in the classic Rider Waite Tarot she has not strayed from tradition, but simply given it to us in an entirely originally traditional way.
