Check In: Mama Shelter Paris

Mama Shelter is our home away from home in Paris. The property somehow braid togethers a homey feeling – but like no home I’ve ever known – with an other world aura. Designed by Philippe Starck, there is such an attention to detail and such a wide vision for the space, it feels like moving through an art installation in which your presence is the most important element.

Some massive highlights include its commitment to affordability, the swoon worthy rooftop, and the seemingly endless supply of good looking people on the premise. Located a little off the beaten path, which we love, Mama Shelter sits in the 20th Arrondissment near the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery and just a quick jaunt to the center of the city. Not only is this spot a feast for the eyes and a wonderful place to rest your traveling bones, it is also to die for delicious with a full service restaurant and pizzeria. There is a touch of comfort food here and a certain appeal to the palate that moves far beyond another order steak frites or croque monsieur. In the end we felt rested, and inspired, we were full, and happy, and we found ourselves discovering things in Paris we may never have stumbled upon without this gem as our hub.
