Ral’s “Naked Under Skin”

A girl deconstructed. This concept immediately intrigues me, an image with dimension and emotion. Artevistas Gallery‘s exhibition “Naked Under Skin” presents a series of intimate portraits of a girl torn apart. Spanish artist Ral draws faces and then deconstructs them, allowing the spectator to look inside the subject of each portrait.

Ral’s intention is to find pure beauty from a personal perspective. By drawing, painting, and using applique on canvas Ral creates surreal nymphs that are raw and dimensional. The viewer cannot help but ask herself two questions: Who is this girl? What is underneath? Acquaint yourself with these images at the Artevistas Gallery in Barcelona, Spain, running from now until October 5th, 2014.
