Living in the Bay Area in August is both a blessing and a curse. Even though it’s summer everywhere else, San Francisco always seems to be gripped by fog this time of year. However, that didn’t stop thousands of festival goers from descending onto Golden Gate Park this weekend for the sixth annual Outside Lands Music Festival.
Many people seemed to not mind the weather or the fact that Friday night saw R&B singer D’Angelo cancel his performance. After all, this was a weekend packed full of headliners – The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix and many more. The real highlights and crowd pleasers came from the smaller acts. Indie darlings Wavves played a killer set that had the crowd thrashing and screaming for more, while moombahton DJ Dillon Francis turned up the heat and had the crowd bouncing to remixes of this summer’s Jay Z hit ‘Suit and Tie’.
