Raw For Beauty: Alkalize, Alkalize, Alkalize

What I remember most vividly from my high school biology class is pissing off my teacher. I came to class stoned almost everyday and would disrupt her teachings with a deep bronchial cough. At the time, I had convinced myself that I was not going to be a biologist; therefore none of this information she was providing pertained to me or what I wanted to do with my life. So for the most part, I payed very little attention and spent most of my time day dreaming about getting the fuck out of McKinney, Texas.

Somewhere during the years between high school and today, I took an interest in the world of living, plant foods. When I first began learning about the benefits of raw foods; one of the most basic laws of human biology was reintroduced to me; only this time, with a whole new meaning. Ironically, all these years after high school, I find myself referring to this basic biological principal on a regular basis. In fact, this basic principle has become somewhat of a guiding tool for my health.

Our bodies, like all living organisms, have an ideal resting place on the pH scale. The harmonic resting place for the human body is around a pH of 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. The majority of people on this planet are around 1-4 points below this level; which is why a large portion of the human population is dis-eased and dying. It is understood that if a human blood is not alkaline, our bodies cannot achieve homeostasis. So what can we do to change that?

The answer is simple; eat more alkaline foods. Examine the acid-alkaline food chart above and you will better understand how to select food that will nourish your entire body. Keep in mind that the majority of our daily food intake should be alkaline foods. Cooking only makes food more acidic, so the more raw food, the better. For those who eat a lot of acidic foods; try cutting back on these as much as you can. Eat alkalizing foods throughout the day, saving the more acidic and cooked foods for dinner. This will allow the body to achieve a higher and more stable state of alkalinity.

Alkaline foods are beautifying foods. By consuming more alkaline foods, our bodies begin unveil their potential glow. These positive changes will show in your skin, hair, teeth, nails, and furthermore, your personality. When the body feels good; typically, the mind feels good as well. Remember, we are what we eat. For good health and beauty; always remember the number one rule of thumb, alkalize, alkalize, alkalize.
