A couple weeks back two of our favorites – Brooke Frederick and Abby Brothers – got together for a wild shoot at the Wolf Mountain Sanctuary. This photo is an outtake from a series portraits titled “The High Priestesses.”
“Each portrait is a based off goddesses and legends from Pagan, Norse and Greek beliefs. They are also in a setting and mood that corresponds with the four Pagan seasons (as well as the ceremonies and beliefs that go along with them). This photo of Abby is the goddess of spring (sometimes seen as the Bride of Spring), the changing seasons, and all things wild and unpredictable. There is a Celtic legend of the Goddess Cailleach, who can be seen in the cold winter months riding a wolf through the forest carrying a hammer made of human skin. When the spring comes some say she turns into a boulder, and turns into a beautiful women in white,” Frederick explains.
