Luck be a lady in November! Our friend and contributor Laura Austin won Lomography‘s “Win Your Dream Space Competition” and was invited to curate a month-long exhibition of analog photography featuring her own work alongside some of her favorite fellow artists & friends’; Jason Lee Parry, Chad Muska, Corey Smith, Jared Eberhardt, Jeremy & Claire Weiss, Natas Kaupas, Ian Ruhter and Danny Zapalac.
“Everyone’s A Photographer” has a fun twist to it: “the show is interactive in the sense that I will have an open section for the public to contribute photos they shot with a Lomo camera throughout the month that I have the space. So people can come in, see the curated show, which cameras the photographers used, decide they want to buy that camera and go shoot too. Then they can submit the photos for a chance to be hung in the show and put in the book I will be creating over the course of the month to be sold at the closing party,” Laura explained in an interview I conducted for Cool Hunting.
The images in this post were shot with the Lubitel 166+ – “I’m a fan of square medium format images. I mainly explored around the area I live in Orange County because a large amount of my time was devoted to actually planning the opening, but it also created a fun challenge to make places that I see as ordinary, interesting.” Love her shots and they inspire me to get shooting, too… Will you?
