Lingerie Guide: La Perla FW12 Oriental Suite

Inspired by the far east, La Perla’s FW12 collection Oriental Suite has the sensual and delicate appeal of a geisha. Without completely abandoning its signature European elegance, La Perla pays homage to the Year of the Dragon with gorgeous metallic gold dragon embroidery, Japanese obi belts, silk printed kimonos and lacquered screen patterns.

The collection embodies the Japanese art of “furoshiki,” a craft that involves wrapping objects with cloth. Combining embellished tulle with a sheer, nude-colored tulle creates a trompe-l’oeil effect in the lingerie. While La Perla never disappoints with its use of fine fabrics and Leavers lace, this time around we can’t get over their use of rich and sensual shades of china blue, red lacquer, pink camellias and yellow curry… to die for! There’s no better way to take on autumn than to treat yourself to a little silk and lace!
