The queen of leather, Zana Bayne, has joined forces with Prabal Gurung to create a rad collection of S&M-inspired accessories. Both part of a fresh new scene of talent on the rise, the young designers have shared their creative vision for this chic Fall/Winter collection – a perfect balance between Gurung’s signature soft feminine style and Bayne’s raw and eroticized leather gear.
Though she may be young in age, Bayne’s hard work, late nights, and enthusiasm for fashion has catapulted her to fame amongst celebrities and fashion editors. She’s introduced a whole new market of stylish fetish-inspired accessories. Collaborating with Gurung has helped her showcase her wicked belts and harnesses on the catwalk.
Prabal Gurung, a Singapore-born designer, has gained popularity from dressing leading ladies such as Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey. After studying fashion at New Delhi’s Institute of Fashion Technology and Parsons, Gurung worked for Cynthia Rowley and Bill Blass. He launched his eponymous collection in 2009 during New Fashion Week.
Gurung’s designs are rich in fur, metallics, and brilliant embellishments. Renowned for his luxe and elegant couture, Gurung introduces some urban edge to his collection with black and white Bayne creations.
With the help of a bold, leathered waist belt holding it all together, Gurung was able to play with different textures, volumes and shapes. Beginning in black structured silhouettes with a feminine military vibe, the models evolved into glamourous deities dressed in electrifying gold and ivory.
