Cheap Monday And Slash Present: Backyard Sessions

Cheap Monday has been a mainstay jean at Slash Denim in Berkeley for a while now, so the two decided to collaborate on a rad party at Vitus in Oakland that went down this past weekend. The day was spent at Slash – hanging with Julie – Slash’s longtime (kind of punk rock) manager, with a few cold beers and some good laughs. She’s an EXPERT in denim, all sizes, shapes and colors, and she can fit you in the perfect pair of jeans. And when I say perfect, I mean PERFECT. I’m kind of in love with Slash’s selection of Cheap Monday jeans, which you can’t find just any where;  it’s totally worth a trip to Berkeley for a denim spree and a few cocktails.

The evening moved to Vitus, a kitchy but cool venue in Oakland, for racious performances by Isaac Rother and the Phantoms, then Glitz, followed by some hard-edged psych rock by  Poor Sons. And a mess of cocktails in between. It all made for a head-banging sort of night, and it brought out a slew of Oakland artist types and punk rock kids. East Bay represent!
