One of Keith Haring’s most important and memorable piece of work, the “Haring Bathroom” – actually named “Once Upon a Time” by the artist – was created in 1989 for Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Community Center.

The mural tells promiscuous stories of sexual decadence, a tribute to an era of sexual freedom in New York before the HIV / aids epidemics, of which Haring died only months after completing the piece. You’ve never seen that many dicks in one room…

The bathroom underwent a 25K conservation and just opened back for the public to see at 208 W. 13th St. in Manhattan.
